WOW! Score is your shopping guide. It is a measure of the people's verdict of a product or the "WOW-ness", based on an algorithm developed by buytheprice.com. WOW! score is your best guide to choose the right products based on popularity, user reviews and ratings, expert reviews.
Why?
We wanted to provide a metric that goes beyond the user ratings/reviews in helping a visitor gauge the product better. We believe that there is a lot more information that a little number crunching will reveal.
Really?
For example, the average daily revenue from a product is a good indicator of its stature amongst its peers. Ideally, if that particular item is selling more, it should be made more visible to the customer by getting featured on better real estate of the site. The number of searches a particular product receives via the Buytheprice.com search box is an indicator of its popularity and demand.
How do you calculate?
In all we decided to use the following 7 parameters and created an algorithm to arrive at a score on 100. Needless to say, the final formula has been tested to acccomodate the entire spectrum of products and prices.
(s) number of times the product is searched on site
(q) quantity sold of the product in the last 30 days
(p) price of the product
(d) days since the product was launched on site
(v) visits on the product page
(uv) unique visitors on the product page
(t) time spent by visitors on page
What next?
The WOW! score will keep getting better with time and historic data. It is as close as we could get to show you the "people's verdict".
